With more than 30 years of development expertise across the Twin Cities, North Shore Development Partners brings a robust roster of industry relationships and a passion for creating unique, optimized financing solutions to each project. We provide expertise in tax-exempt bonds, conventional bank financing, agency executions and TIF, among others. North Shore Development Partners does not seek third-party equity.
Our portfolio of assets is managed by Steven Scott Management, one of the Twin Cities’ most respected building management firms.
Leadership Team
Todd B. Urness, Partner
Todd has been a shareholder with the law firm of Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. for more than 30 years, where he focuses on real estate development and corporate finance. At North Shore Development Partners, Todd applies his expertise to all aspects of real estate development, including land acquisition and assembly, joint venture relationships, construction, mezzanine and permanent financing matters, as well as the negotiation, documentation and monetization of subsidies such as tax increment financing and tax credits.
As if two leadership roles weren’t enough, Todd is a founding member of the Board of Directors of Bridgewater Bancshares. He’s also a self-proclaimed football fanatic, loves traveling with his family, and has a passion for sports cars.
David Juran, Partner
In addition to his work at North Shore Development Partners, David is President and Chief Executive Officer of Colliers Mortgage, a full-service nationwide mortgage banking firm. He serves on the Board of Directors of Colliers Mortgage Holdings, and is a director of Bridgewater Bancshares, a three billion dollar publicly held bank holding company headquartered in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
When he’s not working, David finds time to lend his leadership to the boards of several non-profits, including Summit Academy and Minnesota Attainable Housing. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and an occasional round of golf.
Matt Alexander, Principal
Matt oversees the company’s development strategy, investment opportunities, acquisitions, and asset management, and is a vital source of communication between all project stakeholders.
Matt brings more than 25 years of real estate expertise to North Shore Development Partners, including 15 years leading the development arm of a multi-billion-dollar Twin Cities firm. He’s developed thousands of senior, market-rate, and mixed-income housing projects, as well as master-plan developments such as the former State Farm Headquarters in Woodbury. Matt is a member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Outside of work, you’ll often find him golfing, skiing, and traveling with his family.
